Grade 9:
Week of January 5:
Grade 9s have returned from their winter break with a breath of fresh air...no more calculations for the next two weeks. We are diving in to work with statistics. Our focus will be various types of surveying methods, including who to survey and potential problems with survey questions. This area of study should not take much more than two weeks.

Week of December 8th:
Grade 9s have been working through concepts related to linear relations. The skills presented with these topics are crucial for success in high school. So, it is important that our 9s are strong with plotting points, creating equations, setting up t-tables and graphing.

Week of November 18: Grade 9s have finished up their work with rational numbers. Our final quiz will be on Tuesday of this week and will include all four basic operations using fractions as well as calculations using multiple operations using BEDMAS.
We will then move into our work with linear relations. This builds on last year and involves t-tables, creating expressions and equations and graphing.
Week of September 15:
Much of our week will be spent completing the Number and Algebra Assessment. This is used to gauge where students are at with their abilities, whether they are below grade level or at grade level.
Grade 9s will then be focusing their attention on the four basic operations again, but instead of integers, with decimal numbers.
Week of Sept 8:
After reviewing some the four basic operations of integers (the most simple of rational numbers), we went into the order of operations. Expect a quiz by the end of the week.
