Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we continue through the school year, we want to remind everyone of the importance of traffic safety around our school campus. Ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and families is a top priority, and we need your help to make this happen. Please take a moment to review the following guidelines and reminders:
1. Use Designated Crosswalks: Please remind your child to use the designated crosswalks when crossing the street. Crossing in the middle of the road can be dangerous, especially during busy drop-off and pick-up times. It is also vital that students stop at the corner and ensure the oncoming traffic sees them, you should be making eye contact with the driver before you cross the street. Do not assume the driver sees you.
2. Follow Speed Limits: We ask all drivers to adhere to the posted speed limits in and around the school zone, or better yet, slow down to a speed below the limit. Slowing down not only ensures the safety of our students but also sets a positive example for young drivers who may be observing these habits.
3. No Double Parking: Double parking in front of the school can create a hazardous situation for pedestrians and other drivers. Please find a safe, legal parking space if you need to leave your vehicle. If you're in the car line, please stay in your vehicle and pull forward as space allows.
4. No Cell Phone Use While Driving: Please refrain from using your cell phone while driving in the school zone. Distracted driving is a leading cause of accidents, and we want to minimize risks as much as possible around our students.
5. Be Patient and Courteous: The beginning and end of the school day can be hectic. Please be patient with other drivers, and pedestrians. A little courtesy goes a long way in ensuring everyone's safety.
Let's Work Together:
Our goal is to create a safe environment for our students, both in school and on their way to and from school. By working together and following these traffic and crosswalk safety guidelines, we can help protect our children and set a good example for them. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our school community safe!
