Welcome Back to a New Year at Dr. Martha Cohen!

Dear DMC Families,

Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well-rested and ready to embrace all the opportunities and challenges the new year brings. As we return from the winter break, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all our students, families, and staff. We are excited to see our hallways bustling with energy and enthusiasm once again.

The start of a new year is a wonderful time to reflect on our goals and aspirations, both in and outside of the classroom. It’s also a perfect opportunity to establish routines that set our students up for success. Here are a few tips and tricks to help your child make the most of the months ahead:

1. Establish a Consistent Routine

Help your child ease back into the school rhythm by creating a schedule that balances homework, extracurricular activities, and downtime. A predictable routine can help reduce stress and keep them focused.

2. Set Academic Goals

Encourage your child to set realistic and achievable academic goals. Whether it’s improving a grade, reading more books, or mastering a new skill, having clear goals can motivate and guide their efforts.

3. Prioritize Sleep

Sleep is essential for learning and overall well-being. Ensure your child gets enough rest each night to help them stay alert and ready to learn each day.

4. Stay Organized

Help your child keep track of assignments, projects, and important dates using a planner or digital calendar. This habit will foster independence and time management skills.

5. Communicate Regularly

Stay in touch with your child’s teachers and encourage open communication. If there are any challenges or concerns, we’re here to support you and your child every step of the way.

6. Embrace a Growth Mindset

Remind your child that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow. Celebrate their efforts and resilience, and encourage them to persevere through challenges.

As we embark on this second half of the school year, I encourage everyone to embrace the fresh start and focus on making positive strides, both academically and personally. Our team is committed to fostering a nurturing and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, let’s make this a fantastic year for our students!

Welcome back, and here’s to a successful and joyful 2025!

Warm regards,
Jason Hartl
