Dear DMC Families,
Get ready- our Read-a-Thon is almost here! From April 11th to May 1st 2026, students across the school will take on a fun 21-day challenge to read more, reach new goals, and help support our school community. Did you know it takes 21 days to form a new habit? Let’s do it together! Every student will set a personal daily reading goal (in minutes) and see how far they can go! The goal is simply to spend time with books and stories outside of class. (In-class reading and audiobooks do not count.)
Read however you like—just READ!
📚 Read alone
📚 Read to someone
To make the challenge even more exciting, students are invited to collect pledges from family and friends to support their reading goals and help raise funds for the school. Every student is encouraged to participate in the reading challenge. Donations are welcome but not required.
If every student raised just $20 each, we could raise $18,000!!
There will be great prizes and draws for both total reading minutes and funds raised, so every reader has a chance to win! Please see the attached pages for step-by-step instructions and a breakdown of the prize structure.
Why the Read-a-Thon Matters
Our Read-a-Thon is a win-win for DMC School. It encourages students to build strong reading habits while raising funds that directly support programs, activities, and opportunities for our entire school community.
Best of all, 100% of the money raised stays right here at DMC!
