Dear Dr. Martha Cohen School Families,

As we come to the close of another busy and meaningful term, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership, support, and trust throughout the year. Our school community is strong because of the collaboration between students, families, and staff, and this has been especially evident over the past several months.

This year has not been without its challenges. Navigating the impacts of labour action required flexibility, patience, and understanding from everyone involved. I am deeply appreciative of the way our community came together during this time, supporting students, respecting differing perspectives, and keeping learning and well-being at the center of our decisions. It is a testament to the strength and resilience of the Dr. Martha Cohen School Community that we have moved forward together and are concluding 2025 on a positive note.

Winter break provides an important opportunity to rest, reconnect, and recharge. Whether your plans include travel, time with family and friends, or simply slowing down and enjoying quieter moments, we hope the coming weeks bring you joy, warmth, and time to reflect on the progress and successes we have shared as a school community.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff, who consistently go above and beyond to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for our students, particularly during periods of uncertainty. Their professionalism, care, and commitment continue to make Dr. Martha Cohen School a place where students feel supported and valued.

School will resume on Monday, January 5, and we look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready for the next chapter of learning in the new year.

On behalf of everyone at Dr. Martha Cohen School, I wish you and your loved ones a safe, restful, and happy winter break.

Warm regards,

Jason Hartl
Principal
